Dig N Swap Til You Drop
Of course you know that thrift stores and vintage are all the rage (if you’re a Bay Area person, you’re familiar with the popular store names like Crossroads, Buffalo Exchange, Mars and Wasteland). But what about swapping parties? I’ve never been to invited to one, but in these trying times of crappy monetary situations we’re all looking for new ways to look good without spending a lot of cash … Li Qiu, founder of DigNSwap.com, recently contacted us to tell us about her start-up, which takes the basic idea of a swapping party and brings it online:
Dig N Swap looks to complement the real-world parties, which are as much about social interaction as they are about clothes, by creating an online community where fashion-conscious women can communicate, share insights, and trade clothes and accessories. Users list items they are looking to trade and accept or decline trade offers from other users. I have spent the last year talking to women about the features they would like to see in our website, and implementing the insights they have provided in an easy-to-use website which you can visit at www.dignswap.com.
I am extremely dedicated to sustainable development and to an eco-friendly lifestyle, and I am confident that Dig N Swap contributes modestly to alleviate the pressure on our planet’s resources by recycling items that would otherwise be discarded, and by allowing our users to acquire new items in an eco-friendly way that encourages reuse and discourages waste.
