The Quest for the Perfectly Comfortable Shoe: Day 1

Join Ici in her journey to find the perfect pair of nice, everyday shoes!

Autumn is upon us, and very soon my feet will be too bitten by the winds to wear my beloved Roxy flip-flops anymore. I would wear the other shoes in my closet, but 95% of them have painful heels that would put me to death the moment I step onto the campus of my hilly workplace.

You should know how bad I am at buying shoes. First of all, I base many of my purchases on price (cheap), pure aesthetic OR comfort- leaving out the possibility of me looking maximally exquisite on any given day (why? If it hurts, I don’t wear it ever again no matter how pretty it is). Secondly, I hate heels. But as I received many a dollar and gift certificate at my birthday party, I’m ready to invest in a comfortable pair- and maybe, just maybe, get used to doing the heels thing. As long as they’re comfy.

Today’s brand- Camper. A friend told me about her love for this brand from Spain that specializes in cute and (gasp) comfortable footwear for men, women and children. We also hear the company’s branching out into restaurants and hotels (Casa Camper). The only aesthetic downside? The chunky soles are not so feminine.

Some possibilities:

The Helena. $155.

The Bianca. $180.

The Bianca. $180.

Elsa. $270. Ow. This is the one I like the most, too :(

Trizz! Check out Jeffrey Campbell’s shoes and Kenneth Coles’ Gentle Souls line. Both brands are super, super comfortable, stylin’, and expensive (but hey, they’ll last you a couple years!).
