“You can’t say ‘bomb’ on an airplane!”
Well, tell that to the boys at The Hundreds.
The Hundreds x Gravis = The Black Box Collection
A longtime favorite over here at The Steel Closet, it seems as if Bobby, Ben, and the boys can do no wrong. They’ve knocked boots with the kids over at Gravis to create “The Black Box Collection”, a collection of travel bags and footwear that swathes Gravis’ goodies with Hundreds steez.
More pictures after the jump.
Adam Bomb’s placement, as well as the TH script, is a little too “HAY LOOK IT’S THE HUNDREDS LOOK AT ME” for me. But I can guarantee that this backpack will be a crowdpleaser, especially for the back to school crowd.
I’m a fan of Gravis bags because they don’t sacrifice form for function. They protect and hide all of the little gizmos that we seemingly can’t live without (laptops, iPods, Crackberrys, DSLRs and digital cameras) but maintain a streamlined aesthetic that’s oh-so-important to those of us who don’t want to look like a National Geographic photographer while bustling through the airport.
Skate wheels on luggage aren’t new – but they’re a nice touch. They also happen to be more durable than the flimsy plastic numbers used in regular luggage.
The whole line gets The Hundreds treatment via Adam Bombs, The Hundreds logo script, and their signature “jags” print. However, while the alternating matte/shine effect looked great on TH’s snowboard, it looks to be a little too shiny on these. But we’ll reserve full judgment until we can get our grubby mitts on them. Itty bitty morsels of red make everything pop. I likes.
The red accents are functional too – elbow those geezers at the airport carousel out of the way the moment the crimson flashes.
The footwear is…meh. And quite frankly, it’s confusing, considering that The Hundreds are launching their own line of footwear this fall. But they’re Gravis, so I’m sure that they’re comfortable. As a consolation, the black lowtops with the Jags print look much better than any of TH’s own offerings. Actually, that’s not a consolation, that might be an insult, depending on how you look at it.
You won’t find the Jags on any other sneaker.
And for the truly obsessed, you can cop carryalls in various sizes to stash away your various paraphernalia and contraband. Useless? You might think so. But unique luggage sets that sport a full complement of matching organizers is good looks in my book. In the frazzled, disorganized, and sometimes smelly world of airline travel, nothing says “Ignore the dark circles under my eyes, I got my shit together” like a matching bag set.
Available this Thursday, October 2, at THLA and THSF at 11AM. Also available at select Gravis retailers.
