[LOLAds] “My Life is a Pseudo-Yuppie Paradise, My Home is Parkmerced”
I hate these ads for city townhouses that try to sell a sparkly, yuppie San Francisco lifestyle to anyone who’ll fall for them. I see them every time I’m on BART- each ad consists of a nice testimonial full of happy words and rainbows from an “Actual Resident” who boasts about how he or she likes to wake up, get yuppie espressos filled with sustainable unicorn dust from the amazing neighborhood cafe, prance in the complex’s [supposedly nonexistent] wide, green lawns amongst singing deer and monarch butterflies- and then tops it off with some indie form of entertainment.

I did a little light research (google) and found that Parkmerced management is actually terrible. It is also apparently built off of/next to a WWII-era rental housing complex.
Thanks, yelp (and SF Chron, for the historical info)!

Obviously you did not do much homework so I am guessing you did not do all that well in school and are getting handouts from the liberal government of San Francisco. Parkmerced is a great place to live and these are real residents. I have actually met two of them in these ads while attending a few of the functions they have at Parkmerced for residents. We had our own Arbor day and planted trees around the community. We had our own neighborhood Garage Sale Day which was fun and the concierge services are very helpful when I want to make arrangements for places to go. There are large grassy areas where my kids play ball with their entire teams on occasion. Yes, this community was originally built during the mid 1940’s much like a fair amount of housing in San Francisco, however, they have renovated the community and it looks great. In the tower apartment that I live in, they added a new gym and business center just for our tower and the did this in all of their tower apartment buildings. We just got WiFi for the entire property as well. Overall – this is a good place to live. I love it and so do my kids. There is something here for everyone if you are not a negative person like some people seem to be. I would invite you to check it out personally for yourself rather than making some unsupported statements as you have decided to do. Parkmerced is my home and yes, I do love it here.Alan Smith
