A Story of a Girl and Her Clothes
I know what the cynics say about art school. I’ve read the forums, oh, have I read them! “It’s not the program, it’s the artist and the hard work he/she puts in,” they say. I’m sure it’s true.
But I tried going by that logic. I enrolled in community college. Two precious weeks spent on circles and squares in my Flash class? No, thanks. Plus, the BART tickets were beginning to outweigh the cost of the class, which was awkward.
So bah to what people say about art school. If I can pay, I’m gonna go. Self-teaching only works so well when you get irritated by your only student. I secretly long to go to Savannah, or Ringling, or RISD, or New York, or CalArts. But I just don’t have that kind of paycheck, nor do I want to start an ART/FILM CAREER with thousands of dollars in loans (ha! I might as well start being insanely poor right now). Woe is me.
Anyway, I found this very cute stop-motion short while searching for my future institution. It was made by students at nearby Ex’pression College in Emeryville- I’m considering going either there, or Academy of Art …

So sweet. It makes me think about the relationship I have with my closet.

This is one of our favorites, too. The students who made it won an award on CurrentTV.com. If you’re in the area, you should definitely consider making it over to Emeryville for one of our open house events.iPeter
