• Lacoste Spring Summer ‘09

In typical Lacoste fashion, Lacoste has upgraded their website, keeping up with the 6 months interval rule.  Now I’m a big fan of Lacoste.  There’s nothing more authentic than sporting the brand that invented the polo shirt.  It’s just this pride of ownership feeling I get.  I root for Lacoste every season at the risk of becoming especially disappointed when they come out with subpar pieces, like last season’s.  That is why I was immediately ecstatic after viewing their Spring Summer ‘09 line.  Lacoste has returned to its basics, using bold colors and patterns.  Perhaps they just don’t do toned down colors that well.  Either way, this change from their last season is definitely welcome.

What do you guys think of Lacoste’s new threads?

This shirt’s my favorite out of the whole season.

Great-looking collection. I think you’re right that more than anything, Lacoste does bold solids well. I’m really digging the two-tone sweater in photo #1. Caribbean blue (that light bold shade of blue reminds me of the water in photos of Caribbean beaches, OK fine, cerulean blue) is my favorite color.

Last season’s photos seemed to have everything going wrong – poor combinations, bad muted lighting, and boring tired poses.

I totally agree with last season’s. It felt like they were just trying a little bit too hard to liven up Winter. And the result was boredom. And that blue sweater is golden! Well… not golden but you get what I mean.
