Considering that it is the week of “08-08-08,” it was only fitting that we mention fashion’s marriage to sports. Forbes writes a brief commentary on the connection between the fashion world and the Olympic games.

“Fashion and sports have a lot to give to each other,” says Ligaya Salazar, the show’s curator. “Fashion has the freedom of creativity, while sportswear has the knowledge of the best fabrics to make items functional.”

Burberry Focuses on Men’s Collection

“Men’s has been a huge focus this year, globally. It’s almost a relaunch,” said Bailey, in a conversation ranging from the high fashion of Burberry Prorsum to the tailored world of Burberry London Collection and the casual flavor of Burberry London Lifestyle.

“We’ve figured out all of our manufacturing. I’m confident we have the right make and craftsmanship now, which is so important in men’s wear, and we’ve figured out the distribution and cleaned up all the past licenses. Our new ad campaign for fall has a big men’s emphasis as well,” Bailey said.

This is a good thing! I think the best thing that Burberry’s season lines can do is give you ideas for looks and trends that you don’t have to pay exorbitant amounts of money for. Sometimes I just walk into Burberry’s boutique and then just smell. Sniff and smell all the different styles that I can’t afford. Then I pet the Burberry sheep.
