The Sydney Fish Market
Prawns, shellfish, shark, squid, crab, lobsters, shrimp, sushi, you name it. As long as it’s fish, you can find it at the Sydney Fish Market. I’m not big on fish so I hardly had any of it, which is bad practice if you’re travelling. But the look, the smell, the taste, they all rub my senses the wrong way. I ordered the garlic beef and rice, but I DID try the salmon, fish and chips, and lobster. In my experience with seafood, the best kind has no aftertaste. And this seafood had no aftertaste. Sydney should be so proud.
The Sydney Fish Market is as isolated as you would expect from a fish market. It’s located in what looked like an abandoned convention center. Its most notable feature is the industrial loading docks where they receive fish shipments. It looked like something out of a movie.
Inside the market, they use these freaky mannequins to attract customers. The shops try to dress them up differently and hope we don’t notice.
