Google gets an awesome Cinco De Mayo.

    Google Big Brother

These posters are by Stéphane Massa-Bidal slyly explaining Google’s services.

I’ve extolled Google’s existence in our daily lives in the past. These posters, on the other hand, paint a different picture. I don’t know why we don’t think twice about it, but for one company to have access to 99% of our information is frightening. Imagine having a girlfriend who reads all of your e-mails, knows exactly what porn sites you visit, and then plants a homing device on you. Except your girlfriend is really awesome because she doesn’t ask if you she looks fat as a trick question and you don’t have to read her mind, but she can read yours and does everything for you. That would be Google.

Still, I suppose some people do cherish their privacy and are unsettled at the fact that Google has this much control over our lives. I would be complaining more about it if Google wasn’t so good at what they do.

Is the Internet making us indecisive?

    WORDS BY JessCe

With commercials for Bing, “the decision engine,” popping up all over and the response to any question sounding a lot like “let me check Google,” I can’t help but wonder if everyone’s favorite technology is slowly making us more indecisive than ever.

Perhaps the first issue is the amount of website choices. Before the Internet, there were reference books.  But now, when looking up a subject, say the history of the tandem bicycle, there are 900,100 sites where I can find information. Which to chose? And after choosing, which to believe?

An Animation: The Story of Google

Above is the retelling of The Story of Google by Nick Scott Studio. In the animation, the studio uses a notebook/sketchbook design to reinforce how ideas on paper become ubiquitous applications and services that enrich and manage our daily lives.

Aaaaaaaaahhh the secret to meeting people. What is the secret to getting all that you want and desire?!?! Haha. Really, there is no secret. Just approach a person and start talking. Of course, it helps to have the basics down: smile, make sure your body language isn’t creepy, and you don’t have your hungry eyes on. The worst thing that can happen is that you get snubbed, and that’s not a worst thing at all. Anyways, for anyone who dreads what life is like after college, I will say that meeting people gets easier. You just gotta look. No, you won’t be exposed to the same volume of people that you experience in college or even high school. But in terms of ease of meeting people, people in the “real world” are just a lot easier to talk to. This might be a stretch but this might apply to the dating world as well. Why is this?
