The Best of The Steel Closet: 2009 Edition
I hope you guys had a great New Year’s. We raved in the New Year at one of LA’s biggest New Year’s parties, Together as One at the Sports Arena. The only evidence you’ll find of this is on our twitter. Of course, this is the obligatory, end/beginning of the year post. It’s been the biggest year in our 1 year and a half existence. What you saw this year was A LOT of design changes, exclusive interviews, premiere event coverage, and a whole lot of fun content for fun’s sake. We met a lot of new, engaging people and found ourselves at places that we never thought we’d find ourselves. And maybe we finally learned the ropes of this blogging thing.
I hope that you enjoyed reading it as much as we enjoyed posting it. We have a lot of big plans for 2010 so please keep tuning into The Steel Closet.
Here are some of the best posts from The Steel Closet, IMHO. These are what made TSC a great year in 2009.

We Got it Made
While I think we did a decent job recapping the Made in the Bay party, Fred pretty much said a million words with his high quality photography. You should check it out at SuckaFreeze.
A good camera and some skills can go a long way and make a party look as accurately exciting as it really was.

Made Jewelry 1st Anniversary Party
I swear to God that this blog isn’t Napkin Nights, so don’t ever get us confused with a clubbing website that just takes pictures so people can tag themselves on Facebook. Anyways, we celebrated Made Jewelry’s 1st Anniversary Party on Friday. Made Jewelry is slowly, but surely, making a name for themselves in the fashionverse, and I’m proud that we got to be a part of it. I wish I had mo’ betta pictures, but my camera + nighttime = fail. If you really want to see how it went down, you can check Fred from SuckaFreeze, who I also had the chance to meet. I also got to meet Evan from Adapt and a lot of other great people. They were giving out a lot of cool free stuff, like shirts. We gave out stickers, which you guys have yet to see.
We had a lot of fun and our friends came out, which is really all we could ask for. Hope we can do it again sometime.

The Music That Stirs the Soul
Word up to Davidm for the impeccable high school titles that we gave to our burned CDs.
Our friends at MADE Jewelry just sent us their mixtape. It’s called MADE Mix Vol. II by DJ Beatnik and Mr. Mention. It’s not just a mixtape. It’s a soulmate. So sit back, relax, and prepare to fall in love with music again.

MADE Jewelry Anniversary Sale
Our friends at MADE Jewelry are having their 1st Anniversary Sale! We have met a lot of interesting people since we bore this blog out of our man wombs…and Ici’s regular womb. To think, if it weren’t for that one fateful night at Otis Lounge, we would not have known the grace of the ladies of MADE Jewelry. I remember when I first used to introduce myself as a fashion blogger, they were the ones who told me to say it with pride and own it. And luckily, our paths are crossing just as we are beginning our journeys into the fashion world. So this is us, helping out our friends.
Check them out. They have great designs and how can you pass up a sale?!?! And maybe one day they’ll make me some Beyonce style armor jewelry.
Fast backward in time
